Just really curious - is the godparent-holding-the-godchild-for-baptism custom common for Anglicans, or just your church, or did you decide on your own to do it?

That's what we were instructed to do, it worked better that way since Rebekah and I were confirmed in the middle of the baptism.
It's common among some Lutherans, too--we had Pari Beth's godfather hold her
